Cookies
This site runs no advertising or social media trackers and sets no cookies of its own. That is why you were not shown a consent banner. Our chat window keeps the keys to your conversation in your browser's local storage for 30 days, so the chat stays open as you move between pages. It also notes there when you closed its greeting, so that it does not greet you again for 30 days. If you make a video call, it keeps a random ID there as well, so that the assistant can remember your earlier video calls; that ID stays until you clear it. You can clear all of them in your browser at any time.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you across sites.
Server log
Our web server logs each page and file request: what was requested, when, the page that linked to it, the browser you use, and your IP address with the last part removed. We use the log to count visits and keep the site secure, and we delete it after 90 days.
The request form
If you send the request form, we receive what you typed: your name, company, email, country, optional phone number, the details of your request and, for samples, the ship-to address. We use it to answer you and, if it becomes an order, to run the order. The legal basis is the steps you asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering a business inquiry. We do not sell it and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for.
Requests are stored on our server at OVHcloud in France, reach us by email through Resend, and are kept in our own customer records system. Those providers process the data on our behalf, and some of that processing happens outside Türkiye and outside your country. The form is protected by an anti-bot check that looks at the request, not at you.
When you email or message us
If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you send: your name, company, email address or phone number, your message, and a ship-to address if you ask for samples. We use it to answer you and, if it becomes an order, to run the order. The legal basis is the steps you asked us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering a business inquiry. We do not sell it and we do not add you to a marketing list you did not ask for.
The chat
If you use the chat on this site, we receive what you write, the email address you give us, and what the chat needs to work: the page you were on, the website that sent you there, your browser's language and your IP address. We use it to answer you and, if it becomes an order, to run the order, on the same legal basis as an email.
The chat runs on our own server in Türkiye, on the open-source software Chatwoot. Replies we send by email go through Resend. Each message, with our team's internal notes on it, is also copied to a private channel in our team's Slack, which notifies our phones. A notification may also reach our phones through Chatwoot's notification service and Google's Firebase. The chat is part of our nightly backups, which we keep in our company Google Drive.
The first replies come from our AI assistant, which answers from the pages of this website. A person on our team takes over for quotes, samples and orders, and you can ask for a person at any time. Our team's assistant may also read recent chats to summarize them for us in our team's Slack and suggest replies. For both we send your messages to Anthropic, a company in the United States, which keeps them for up to 30 days, longer only if its usage policy or the law requires, and by default does not use them to train its models.
If you book a call from the chat, Google's booking page asks for your name and email address and adds the call to our calendar. Google handles them under its own privacy policy.
You can also talk to our AI assistant in a live call from the chat. The assistant usually appears on video, and the call then runs on Tavus, described below. When video is not available, the call is voice only and runs on ElevenLabs, a company in the United States that processes it for us: it turns your voice into text and the replies into speech. ElevenLabs does not keep a recording of the call and deletes its audio and transcript after one day. In either kind of call, what you say goes to Anthropic in the same way as a chat message, and we keep the transcript of the call with your chat.
Tavus is a company in the United States that shows the assistant's face and voice and runs the video call for us. It uses other companies for real-time video and speech-to-text, which it lists at tavus.io/authorized-subprocessors. Your microphone audio goes to Tavus. The call does not use your camera. We do not record the call.
During the call, Tavus reads the tone of your voice and passes short notes on it to the assistant so that it can respond. After the call, Tavus sends us a summary with a rating of how interested you seemed. We keep the transcript, the summary and Tavus's notes with your chat, and may copy your request to our customer records.
So that the assistant can pick up where you left off, Tavus keeps notes from your earlier video calls, linked to the random ID in your browser (see Cookies). Tavus also keeps the transcript of each call. Under its terms of service, Tavus may use what passes through its service to maintain and improve its products.
When you open the chat, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person and not a program is using it, before your first message or call. It looks at signals such as your IP address and your browser. Cloudflare uses them for this check on our behalf, and to improve the check, as its Turnstile privacy addendum explains.
Our social media accounts
We publish our own posts to our LinkedIn Page, Facebook Page and Instagram account with scheduling software. We run Postiz, an open-source tool, on our own server in Türkiye, and we also use hosted services such as Buffer. When one of our administrators connects an account, the platform gives the tool an access token for that account. The tool keeps the token, the posts we prepare and the figures for our own posts, such as impressions and reactions, and uses them only to publish and measure our content.
If you follow, comment on or message one of our accounts, the platform shows us your public name, your profile and what you wrote. We may read and answer it on the platform or in these tools, and we use it only to reply to you. We do not copy follower or commenter lists, take data out of these platforms to build advertising or sales lists, or sell any of it.
When we stop using a tool for an account, we also remove its access on the platform, so the tool receives nothing more from that account. What you do on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram is also covered by their own privacy policies.
Messages on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp
If you message our Facebook Page, our Instagram account or our WhatsApp number, Meta delivers the message to the same customer inbox as the chat on this site. It runs on Chatwoot, open-source software on our own server in Türkiye, and messages reach it through Cloudflare. We receive what you write, any files you send, and the name, profile picture and account ID that Facebook or Instagram show for you, or on WhatsApp your phone number and profile name. We use them only to answer you and, if it becomes an order, to run the order, on the same legal basis as an email.
The first replies come from our AI assistant; it says so in its first message and answers only from our website. A person on our team takes over for quotes, samples and terms, and you can ask for a person at any time. To write those replies, and to summarize conversations for our team, we send your messages to Anthropic, a company in the United States. Anthropic keeps them for up to 30 days, longer only if its usage policy or the law requires, and by default does not use them to train its models. If you share your email, we may copy your request to our customer records system. We may also ask Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, to read a conversation and suggest a reply; Anthropic handles that text under its own privacy policy. Each message, with our team's internal notes on it, is also copied to a private channel in our team's Slack, and a notification may reach our phones through Chatwoot's notification service and Google's Firebase. The inbox is part of our nightly backups, which we keep in our company Google Drive. We do not use these messages for advertising and we do not sell them.
Public posts on Instagram
To understand the market for natural stone in the United States, we read public posts on Instagram through its official API. These are recent posts that carry hashtags such as #marblecountertop, and recent posts from the business accounts of stone and tile companies. For each post we keep the text, the date, the link and the numbers of likes, comments and views. For a business account we also keep its name and its numbers of followers and posts. Hashtag results do not tell us who posted them, and we remove any @username from the text before we store it. We delete these records automatically 30 days after we collect them.
We use these posts only to understand the market and to plan our own content. Our internal reports describe what we see and do not name the people who posted. We may ask an AI assistant, Claude from Anthropic or Grok from xAI, to help summarize and analyze the posts. Anthropic and xAI are companies in the United States, and each handles that text under its own privacy policy. We do not contact anyone because of these posts. We do not build profiles of people from them, add them to advertising or sales lists, or sell them. To have a post of yours removed from our records sooner, send its link to export@meydanbuilding.com.
How long we keep it
If no order follows, we delete an inquiry, chats and social media messages included, after 24 months. If an order follows, the records are kept for as long as commercial and tax law requires.
Who is responsible
The data controller is FUBAR İNŞAAT OTO KİRALAMA TİCARET LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, a limited company registered in Istanbul, Türkiye, that does business as Meydan Building Materials. Its registry number and tax ID appear on every quotation and invoice, and we confirm them by email on request.
Your data
Write to export@meydanbuilding.com and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. We will do it. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Türkiye that is the Personal Data Protection Authority, KVKK.
Deleting your data
To have us delete your data, write to export@meydanbuilding.com or ask in any conversation you already have with us on this site's chat, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger or Instagram. Tell us how you contacted us so that we can find every record. Within 30 days we delete your messages and contact details from our message inboxes, our email and our customer records, and we tell you when it is done. If you made a video call, we also ask Tavus to delete it and the notes the assistant keeps about you.
If an order followed, we keep only the records that commercial and tax law require and delete them when that period ends. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp keep their own copies of your messages under their own privacy policies.
